After receiving an early morning phone call from my "training/job" thing, I laid in bed trying to figure out what I was going to do with my next couple days. Training postponed... in my book, that means cancelled. The whole thing was incredibly sketchy. My dad was relieved that I backed out. He told me a story about my cousin who bought hundreds of dollars worth of knifes so she could continue selling them and "making tons of money". Of course, these people just took advantage of her naive outlook on life. It was too good to be true. Because instead of her making money, the company made money off of her.
Yesterday, I had an interview at a hotel
resteraunt restaraunt restaurant. (Damn, if I get hired at one of those, I should really learn how to spell it without the help of red wavy underlines.) They seemed very interested in me even though I don't have any waitress experience. They just have to do a background check and then I can begin working as early at Saturday. Well, with training out of the way for the other "job", I had Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday free. So I hopped in my car and drove to Hays to surprise The Techie. Unfortunately, I've seen him for about a total of 20 minutes because he has been in rehearsals all day. Note to self: when surprising someone, make sure they are actually prepared for the surprise A.K.A. no more surprises.
I'm leaving Hays sometime on Friday so until then, I've been trying to meet up with friends that I didn't have a chance to say goodbye to last week. I've already hung out with two different friends in the last couple hours. It feels comfortable here. I'm familiar with this area. And although I've really been enjoying my time in Manhattan, its nice to be back for a bit. Baby steps.
